A Personal Note
For much of my life, I have been drawn to what lies beneath appearances.
Beneath habits.
Beneath conditioning.
Beneath the stories we inherit about who we should be.
The world often felt overwhelming, noisy and difficult to navigate. Art became a place where I could listen rather than perform, feel rather than explain, and reconnect with something deeper than fear, expectation or conditioning.
What began as a personal refuge gradually became a path of discovery.
Through silence, contemplation, creativity, inner exploration, and both inner and outer journeys, I became increasingly fascinated by the subtle dimensions of life that often remain hidden beneath the surface of everyday experience.
Painting became a way of listening to life before it becomes language.
Over time, I realised that what nourished me most was a deeper connection to life itself.
A connection to what moves beneath appearances. To what seeks to emerge, transform and come alive
Painting became a way of entering into that conversation and allowing it to move through me.
What emerges on the canvas is often less an attempt to express something than an invitation to participate in an ongoing dialogue with the living world.
Art became a way of belonging to the world.
A way of participating in a conversation that exists beyond words; between ourselves and nature, between the visible and the unseen, between who we are and who we are still becoming.
Perhaps this is why I continue to paint.
Not to arrive at answers, but to remain open to life as it unfolds.
Today, painting remains both a practice of listening and an act of trust: a space where life is allowed to move freely, revealing new layers of meaning, beauty and connection.
If my work resonates with others, I hope it offers a similar invitation: to pause, to listen, and to reconnect with something alive within themselves.
